You are SO lucky to have been prescribed this. I used to steal my brother's Ritalin purely for the appetite suppression and the weight loss benefits. Not only will you not be tempted to eat as much, but your metabolism will be dramatically higher.
You will be running around in circles all day. You may feel nervous or anxious though, which is common, but I always felt more social than I usually did when I took Ritalin. I just binged on McDonald's fries. Wish I had some Ritalin.
Best of luck and lots of loveeee! Important Q: What is your specific dosage? Tell me and I can tell you more about what your experience may be like.
I take 50mg a day as prescribed by my psychiatrist and I couldn't live without it, it's made a world of difference. The only problem is I.

Important Q: What is your specific dosage? Statistikk Om Fedme Hos Unge Voksne Kvinder here. Tell me and I can tell you more about what your experience may be like. It's not certain yet, I have to get my official diagnosis first, but if i'm diagnosed they recommend medication. I'm diagnosed with mild to moderate anxiety (and depression); do you think it would increase my anxiety, or do you think the fact that i take SSRI antidepressants would counteract that?
Thanks Oh and with the dosage I don't know yet cause it's not been prescribed yet but I'm an adult (20) and my stats are in my signature, I think i read that dosage depends on your weight? So i don't know if that gives you any idea? You are SO lucky to have been prescribed this. I used to steal my brother's Ritalin purely for the appetite suppression and the weight loss benefits.

Tell me and I can tell you more about what your experience may be like. My brother has recently been put on Ritalin. I keep staring at the box so tempted to try it but worried as to whether my mum will notice some missing. He's got 10mg a pill.
What dose did you take and what affects did you have considering you didn't actually NEED it? I didn't know it was an appetite suppressant!!!

If your anxiety is social, I think that the Ritalin would help it. I always felt more outgoing when I took Ritalin. Basically, I felt bouncy! I think that your first dosage might be 5-10 mg to start out simply to see how it affects you. Regardless of the dosage, any Ritalin will work as an appetite suppressant. Best of luck and lots of love! My brother has recently been put on Ritalin.

What dose did you take and what affects did you have considering you didn't actually NEED it? I didn't know it was an appetite suppressant!!! I doubt that your mum would notice if you took a few pills, especially considering that your brother has 10 mg a pill. 10 mg is the lowest you could take and have an effect and if you took two of those pills, you'd have a great effect and honestly, who would miss 2 pills? I'd say 'go for it'.
My brother was prescribed 5 mg a pill and I would usually take four pills, which was risky as it was much more noticeably gone. I always felt very outgoing and happy. In terms of its weight loss benefits, I felt like I could run a marathon and still be ready and roaring so if you do take it, definitely fit in some exercise. The appetite suppression is wonderful. I didn't eat at all or have any hunger pangs the days that I took it.

Best of luck and lots of love! Sounds awesome, might give it a go tomorrow. Just hoping it doesn't make my already irregular heart go crazier! I started taking these a few years ago to loose weight and hell yeah it worked. I also became a. Serious addict and my hole life was turned upside down.
It took a long time to get back on track and I'm left with a lot of regrets. I suggest unless you are prescribed them (or don't mind acting like a heroin addict) do not take them because the impairment of judgment, insomnia, illness and addiction that comes along with them is not worth it! I take a prescription stimulant (amphetamine) in the same class as Adderall - and it can get out of control really fast. Tolerance builds and you need more and more to get the same effect, and then when you run out or are no longer prescribed it (where I live, I can only get a 30-day supply at a time and it is strictly regulated, so you can't just get automatic refills), withdrawal is a bitch. That said, if you need/use it legitimately, then awesome. Just know that it's SO easy to let the med entirely take the place of food -- you may lose a dramatic amount of weight very quickly, but it's a) not sustainable, and dangerous (which honestly, I don't care about being 'safe' -- but these meds can really screw with your heart and land you in the hospital or in treatment. It's also not recommended for anyone with an eating disorder, and psychiatrists will often pull the med if a patient is losing too much weight (even if they have no history of an ED), so it becomes increasingly difficult to convince them to keep giving it to you.
For me, they set a bottom number and if my weight goes below that, it's gone. The benefits of it are great, and I'm so productive and my mood is awesome when I'm on it, but it does suck having all those stipulations. A few years back I was put on Concerta (same drug as Ritalin, methylphenadate, but extended release).
This coincided with being on Wellbutrin, which also has appetite suppression effects. My huge appetite went away, and I had more energy to do little mini workouts throughout the day. I lost 27 lbs and was able to recover from MIA because I wasn't binging. Only 10 lbs crept back on while I was still taking it, thought I had a very active job that prevented me from gaining as well. Fast forward a couple years after ending with Concerta & Wellbutrin, and I'm on it again. The appetite suppression is less dramatic, and while I have lost 13 lbs, the more intense benefits are not there. It's very discouraging, but it helps enough that I think I can get myself under control.
Dose both times was/is 27mg. The tracking of weight depends on your doctor. My 1st doc didn't care until I'd already lost a bunch, but my current doc makes me weigh in every time I pick up the prescription. I'm on the second lowest available dose for ritalin, so 10mgs.
5mgs being the lowest. It's being used semi-experiementally to augment my MAOI use for depression. Ritalin is the only stimulant that can be used safely with an MAOI, as far as i'm concerned. The MAOI i was prescribed, parnate, already has well-documented appetite suppressant effects. So it's a strange decision on the part of my psychiatrist to try the ritalin, seeing as i fit the diagnostic criteria for an eating disorder (though i've been trying to stress to him that i've been making an effort to eat properly, and i have) when i took dexedrine i was bouncing off the walls. Which was actually kind of a nusance because i had taken it to help me focus on this massive research essay i had to write.
Adderall just made me hyper-alert to the point of strong anxiety. This low dose of ritalin seems to be a good middle ground. Componded with parnate, i have virtually no appetite. So i do have to force myself to eat, but as always i'm senisble about the meals and snacks i prepare for myself. I'm more or less trying to maintain my current weight, so if this results in rapid weight loss then i'll have to try even harder to eat.
